Changes to College Car Park 23/01/2019

Dear Parent/Guardian

Thank you to the many parents and guardians who have contacted college to share their support for our efforts to improve provision and safety for students in the college. We are continually looking to improve the fabric of the building and facilities for students that improve either provision or safety.

The college places the safety of students as a critical responsibility for all of our actions. Recently, the amount of traffic and the behaviour of drivers accessing the college at the start and end of the day, have placed students and staff at risk. Attempts to manage the situation and appeal to parents not to access the college have not brought about the required adjustments and following a review of the risk assessments, it is necessary for the college to take action to protect the safety of students.

As such, with effect from Monday 25th February access to the college car park will be restricted to official college transport and those parents who need access due to mobility demands. This action has not been taken lightly and is in the best interests of students in our care.

May I remind all parents that parking on Thatch Leach and the Fallows is not recommended due to resident complaints and access rights. Instead, parents are encouraged to use the official parental car park for the college at the rear of the Ancora restaurant off Broadway.

Thank you for your support in this matter.

Yours sincerely

Mr G R Potts
Headteacher
