2024 Admissions
Consultation
The admission authority, namely The Governors of Saint John Henry Newman Catholic College are proposing to amend the admission arrangements for Year 7 September 2024 entry and are therefore consulting parents and other interested parties.
The proposed amendments relate to the following:
The relocation of one faith related criteria; previously the 7th criteria to be moved to 4th criteria position
an addition of an additional faith related criterion of the college oversubscription criteria for Roman Catholic applicants who have a sibling on roll at the time of admission at the 3rd criteria.
The revised policy and supplementary information form ensures that applicants who fall under the criteria are not disadvantaged and are able to apply fairly in accordance with the Salford Diocese guidance, the School Admissions Code and to aid clarity.
The college is required by the National Admissions Code to consult on its admission policy every seven years, even if there are no proposed changes.
The consultation period opens on Thursday 15th December 2022 and closes on Thursday 26th January 2023.
Following the end of the consultation period, the admission authority will determine and publish the admission arrangements. Determination and publication of 2024/25 arrangements will be made by 28th February 2023.
