Year 8 Virtual Parents Evening – 23rd March 2022
2.30 – 7.15pm
Year 8 Virtual Parents Evening will take place on Wednesday 23rd March with the first appointment starting at 2.30pm and the final appointment being 7.15pm. Bookings will close Tuesday 22nd March at 12.00pm.
The virtual system, School Cloud, can be accessed through the existing parents evening booking system via the Parent Portal on the Newman website.
Appointments will be open for booking from Wednesday 9th March. We ask that your child appears on screen with you, with the video turned on. If you still have a copy, please have your child’s latest Progress Check to hand for the meetings. This was sent prior to the Christmas break.
We strongly advise that you check your web browser is up-to-date and compatible in advance of the evening. We advise you do this before your appointment, and you can do so by selecting ‘join video appointment’ and then ‘test camera/microphone’. If you have any technical issues, please email ithelp@newmanrc.oldham.sch.uk no later than Tuesday 22nd March.
Appointments are bookable in five-minute slots with each member of staff that teaches your child. The video will count down as soon as the time starts. If you are late for your allotted appointment you cannot claim back the time lost. The video begins to countdown from the start of the appointment and ends after five minutes; you will see a countdown at the top of the screen. Mr Collinge from our SEN team will also be available but appointments with them are not compulsory. These will be available along with your regular appointments.
Appointments are first come, first served. Appointments must be booked in advance. You will not be able to log on and see a staff member without a booked time slot. Meetings must not be recorded; it would be illegal to do so. If you wish to arrange an appointment to speak to a member of our safeguarding team please email R.Humphries@newmanrc.oldham.sch.uk
