BTec Tech Award Level 1/2 in Health and Social Care.

The course consists of 3 Components:

Component 1 – Human lifespan development
In this component pupils will study areas of growth and development that contribute to the whole person, including physical, intellectual, emotional and social. Pupils will reflect on physical, social and economic factors that are part of everyone’s life, such as family relationships and how they impact on each area of growth and development.

Component 2 – Health and Social Care services and Values
In this component pupils will study Care professionals from various settings and how they do their job and care for people. Pupils will also have

Component 3 – Health and Wellbeing
Pupils will look at the meaning of health and wellbeing in this component. They will look at what it is to be healthy and begin to recognise indicators or possible poor health. Pupils will bring together their knowledge from component 1 & 2 to produce a Health Care Plan for an individual. This Health Care Plan will be produced in a synoptic assessment (exam conditions).
