£ Free with a donation to DEC Ukraine Appeal.

It's a social and learning event for those who work in education - in short, pints and pedagogy, CPL in a social setting.

We are a group of educators who are passionate about the children in Greater Manchester and now that COVID restrictions are being relaxed, we want to offer a space for people like us to get together, share and learn from one another.

It's by those in the classroom for those in the classroom: no big Twitter names and no 'best practice' (because it probably doesn't exist). Just sharing what some of us do in this part of the world, for the students in front of us.

For this event, people give around ten minutes input on what they do around the theme of 'Talk', hence #AlesandTales. In practice this will cover things like oracy, difficult conversations, how to talk to your LSA and inclusive language. Visit our speakers page at the top to find out more.

In the second half of the event we move to smaller groups. Senior leaders, subject leaders, teachers of arts subjects and colleagues recently back from maternity/ parental leave will 'host' tables, to facilitate conversations to share expertise, look at strategies for getting that next role, classroom practice and well-being. If you have a specialism and would like to host and share please use the 'Register to Share' button above.

YOU! (Hopefully!)

Most speakers signed up so far are first timers. Be brave - you have something to say!

We are committed to trying to ensure access for all, so the event is free. If you are able, please make a donation on the door which will go towards the  https://cafod.org.uk/Give/Donate-to-Emergencies/Ukraine-Humanitarian-Appeal.

We are also committed to trying to bring together diverse voices

We are lucky to have in our school community two parents who run an independent brew pub: The Secret Sip who are able to give us the space for the afternoon.

Please note if you need transport from the nearest Tram Stop (Westwood Metrolink) or overground (Mills Hill) please add that in your registration - we can help!
