Fire Update

Dear Parents, carers.

Following the fire in one of the science classrooms this afternoon, school will be closed tomorrow Thursday 12th March so that safety checks can be undertaken. We will update you before 3pm Thursday 12th March for Friday’s situation.

We are aware when incidents take place, information is shared via social media that isn’t always correct or valid. All official communication will take place via Arbor and our own social media sites. Please only use these for information.

We will provide online learning for all students. This will be posted via Arbor at 9am on Thursday 12th March. Please do encourage your young person to participate in this online work. Year 11 will have further details shared on revision and mock results.

The absence from school will be authorised and on your child’s registration certificate as code Y3 which is in line with department for education statutory guidance of working together to improve school attendance (August, 2014).

If you were due to have a meeting in Newman with a member of our staff, please be aware that this will be postponed until the building is back open. Please also be aware there will be no members of staff in the school building, so reception phonelines will not be open.
