Hamilton - Year 9 & 10 Theatre Tip

On Wednesday 13th December, forty-eight pupils from Years 9 & 10, plus five members of staff, visited the Manchester Palace Theatre to watch Lin Manuel Miranda’s smash-hit musical, Hamilton. The pupils really enjoyed the rap and hip-hop inspired songs and even received a free American history lesson along the way. They laughed at King George’s songs, listened intently to the founding fathers’ impassioned speeches and there were even a few tears when (spoiler alert!) some of Hamilton’s friends and family were killed.

It was wonderful to spend the afternoon visiting one of Manchester’s famous theatres, enjoying each other’s company and having the opportunity to see one of the 21st century’s most successful musicals.

We can’t wait to visit the theatre again, with plans already in place to take school trips to watch ‘Dear Evan Hansen’, ‘& Juliet’, and ‘Wicked’.
