Saint John Henry Newman Feast Day 2025

Today we celebrate our Feast Day choosing the theme of mission from our Patron’s words “I have my mission”.

Our students experienced lessons on our patron’s life, influence and his own mission. Also on the new Saint Carlos Acutis, as he was called by God as a young person and recently canonised and on young people that put good out into the world. Students reflected on their own mission and how they can project goodness into the world.

Students also had a mission panel, with guest speakers from various missions such as nurses, midwife, charity representatives, Oldham Theatre group, Guides, the police and teachers. Students were able to listen to their stories and missions and ask questions to help guide their own.

Students celebrated a year group Mass, where Father Joel reminded them all that they are called and chosen.

We have had a wonderful family day and want to wish all in our community a Happy Feast Day!
