Viva Languages! with Year 9 at the University of Manchester

A group of 20 keen language learners spent an inspiring day with Mr Ralph and Mrs Zander at the languages faculty of the University of Manchester; finding out why language study is such an advantage in today's world, scripting and performing a French role-play which was filmed and watched by Newman students and those from other schools attending the event, and finally undertaking a taster study session in Mandarin Chinese. Students were able to understand how they could combine language study with another discipline at university to maximise their future employability.

A thoroughly enjoyable day which gave pupils plenty of opportunity to consider their future ambitions.
